If your to-do list seems to grow faster than you can tick things off, you may wonder what you can delegate to an online PA. The simple answer is probably far more than you think. An online PA can handle many essential yet time-consuming tasks that keep your business running, freeing you to focus on work that genuinely requires your expertise ...

You'd be surprised at how much you can actually delegate to an online PA

You'd be surprised at how much you can actually delegate to an online PA

The best place to start when deciding what to delegate to an online PA is with the tasks you do regularly, but don't necessarily need to do yourself. Diary management is a great example. Booking meetings, rearranging appointments, sending reminders and keeping your calendar organised can take a surprising amount of time.

Handing over your diary means you can look at your
schedule and know where you need to be and when!

Email management is another task that can quickly eat up your workday. An online PA can help organise your inbox, flag messages that need your attention, handle routine enquiries, and ensure important emails don't get buried under a mountain of newsletters and notifications.

Then there's all the day-to-day administration. Updating spreadsheets, preparing documents, creating invoices, chasing information, organising files and carrying out online research are all jobs that can often be delegated.

Individually, they might only take a few minutes, but those minutes soon add up.

An online PA can also help with customer and client support. They might respond to routine questions, send welcome information to new clients, arrange appointments or follow up after meetings. Having someone keep an eye on these small touchpoints can help you provide more consistent service without having to personally manage every interaction.

You can even delegate parts of your
marketing and online presence!

Depending on your PA's skills, this could include scheduling social media posts, uploading blog posts, formatting newsletters, updating website content, or keeping contact databases up to date. You remain in control of what your business says while someone else handles the practical work involved in getting it out there.

The trick is to stop thinking, “What could somebody else possibly do for me?” and start noticing the repetitive tasks that interrupt your day. If something follows a process, happens regularly or doesn't require your expertise, there's a good chance it can be handed over.

Ultimately, deciding what to delegate to an online PA is about protecting your time. You don't have to hand over everything at once. Start with a few recurring tasks, build trust and create clear processes.

You may soon wonder why you spent so long doing all those little jobs yourself.

Until next time ...
